Door-related finger accidents – dangers and prevention

Finger injuries that occur because of closing doors can be potentially tragic. Hundreds of thousands of children are treated at emergency medical centres every year because of door-related finger injuries and cases of fractures and partial or complete finger amputation by doors are not unheard of either. Door-related finger accidents are terrifying, to say the least. So, what can be done to prevent them? First of all, severe door-related injuries take place only on the hinge side of the door as there is an extraordinary amount of force involved on the hinge side when a door is closed (40 tons of pressure psi, to be precise!) door finger protector Fortunately, these accidents can be avoided with the help of  door finger guards for schools , day care centres, or homes. Door finger guards are safety products that cover the cavity between the door and the door frame. These guards are made of flexible materials so they can take any position (opened, closed, or anywhere in between) –

Eliminate the risks of finger trap injuries with door hinge guards

Each year in the UK, more than 40,000 door-related finger accidents take place. This figure might come across as being a little exaggerated to you, but it is certainly not; these statistics are backed by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). What’s more concerning is the fact that most of these accidents involve children between the ages of 2 and 4. Door-related finger accidents are common and may even end up in some very severe injuries to the fingers, but thankfully, they can be effectively prevented with door hinge guards. These guards are easy to put in place and are adequately durable, as well. They work by minimizing the gap or covering it completely so there is no empty space left for children to put their hands and fingers in.  As brought up earlier in the blog, hinge guards – thanks to their self-sticking strong fixture –can be easily removed and put back together without the use of glue, nails, drill machine or any other professional equipme
